Our Story

Designer-curated resale, vintage and one-of-one upcycled pieces.

Newnorm was born over a dinner conversation, inspired by my father-in-law Norman — a man of timeless style and the belief that great design never goes out of fashion.

I'm Kate Browning, a fashion designer with more than 30 years of experience creating collections in New York, LA and Boston.

Throughout my career, I've always been drawn to pieces with exceptional design, quality and character, garments that transcend trends and become part of someone's story.

My love of design started early. My father was an architect with an eclectic eye who filled our home with mid-century modern furniture, antiques and objects collected over time.

That curiosity eventually led me to Parsons School of Design and a career in fashion, where I spent decades designing collections and developing an appreciation for craftsmanship, fabric, fit and the details that make a piece truly special.

Today, from my studio in Marblehead, MA I bring the same designer eye to pieces selected for shopnewnorm.

What We Curate

NewNorm is a collection of designer resale, vintage finds, and one-of-one upcycled pieces chosen for their quality, construction, and enduring style.

I look for exceptional fabrics, beautiful proportions, thoughtful details, and pieces that feel as relevant today as when they were first created. Whether it's a rare vintage find, a designer label, or a reimagined garment reconstructed in my studio, every item must earn its place in the collection.

If it doesn't meet my standards, it doesn't make the edit.

Why Pre-Owned?

After more than three decades in fashion, I've seen firsthand how much beautifully made clothing exists in the world.

Choosing pre-owned isn't just a sustainable choice—it's an opportunity to own pieces with history, craftsmanship, and individuality. Many of the garments in this collection were made with a level of quality and attention to detail that is increasingly difficult to find today.

I believe great design deserves a second life.
